Atmore, AL (BuzzReport) — A 19-year-old Atmore man is facing multiple felony charges following an early morning shooting incident that left three people narrowly escaping injury, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Authorities say officers were dispatched to the Bragg Street Apartments on Bragg Street after receiving reports that a male subject had fired multiple shots into an occupied vehicle. Patrol officers, along with members of the department’s Crime Scene Unit and Criminal Investigations Division, responded swiftly to secure the scene and begin an investigation.
Preliminary findings indicate that Ivory Bogan, 19, of Atmore, allegedly and intentionally discharged a firearm into a vehicle occupied by three individuals. Investigators say the occupants included a person with whom Bogan has a current or prior relationship, as well as two additional passengers. One or more rounds struck the vehicle during the incident.
Despite the dangerous nature of the shooting, authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Police say Bogan fled the scene before officers arrived, prompting an immediate search effort. Law enforcement conducted searches at multiple residences in an attempt to locate him. A short time later, after becoming aware that authorities were actively seeking him, Bogan voluntarily turned himself in to the Atmore Police Department.
Following his surrender, Bogan was transported to the Escambia County Jail. He has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
Officials emphasize that the investigation remains ongoing.
Bogan is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Authorities noted that a booking photo will be released once it becomes available.
