Prichard, AL (BuzzReport) — Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly Sunday shooting in Prichard as 17-year-old Isaiah Cortez Johnston, as investigators with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office continue to pursue multiple suspects believed to be involved in the incident.

According to the sheriff’s office, 20-year-old Jonathan Lee Robinson, of Mobile, and a 16-year-old boy were brought in by their parents for questioning regarding their alleged roles in the shooting. Robinson has since been formally charged with felony murder. The juvenile, whose identity has not been released due to his age, was later released; however, officials indicated that he, along with three other juvenile passengers connected to the case, will also face felony murder charges.

The shooting occurred Sunday at a residence located at 79 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Prichard. Deputies responding to the scene learned that a male victim had already been transported to a local hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite life-saving efforts, Johnston was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Investigators say surveillance footage obtained from the area shows six individuals arriving together at the location in a white 2016 Ford Fusion, which had previously been reported stolen out of Mobile. According to authorities, the shooting took place inside the vehicle, where the driver—later identified as Johnston—was shot by a front-seat passenger.

Following the shooting, all five remaining occupants, including the alleged shooter, fled the scene on foot. Law enforcement officials are actively working to locate and identify those individuals.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office continues to urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward. Tips can be reported by calling 251-574-8633.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details regarding a possible motive.
