Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A routine patrol turned into a vehicle pursuit Saturday morning after officers attempted to stop a driver accused of reckless driving. According to authorities, officers were on patrol at approximately 11:35 a.m. on February 28, 2026, when they observed a vehicle traveling northbound on the service road approaching Cottage Hill Road in a reckless manner. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly refused to pull over, prompting a pursuit. The chase came to an end in the 2400 block of Karagan Drive when the driver eventually stopped the vehicle. Police identified the driver as 30-year-old Armando Powe. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Metro Jail. Authorities have not released additional details regarding potential charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
