One Dead, Another Wounded in Prichard Apartment Complex Shooting; Joint Investigation Underway

Prichard, AL (BuzzReport) — A late-Saturday shooting at a Whistler apartment complex left one person dead and another injured, according to Prichard Police Chief Walter Knight.

Chief Knight said officers with the Prichard Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 3425 St. Stephens Road, at the St. Stephens Woods Apartments. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims had been shot.

One victim was transported by a private vehicle to University Hospital, where the individual is being treated for a gunshot wound to the arm. The second victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No suspect has been taken into custody at this time. Authorities confirmed that investigators from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office are assisting Prichard police as the investigation continues.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to contact law enforcement immediately. Tips can be directed to the Prichard Police Department or the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.
