Orange Beach, Ala. (BuzzReport) — An attempted traffic stop Tuesday evening led to a vehicle pursuit and multiple criminal charges after a driver tried to flee from Orange Beach police, authorities said. According to the Orange Beach Police Department, officers attempted to stop a vehicle on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 20, after observing multiple traffic violations. The driver failed to comply and attempted to elude officers, prompting a pursuit that began near the Foley Beach Express Bridge and continued into East Orange Beach. Police say officers were able to safely end the pursuit in East Orange Beach, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Investigators later determined the individual had outstanding warrants from the state of Colorado. The suspect now faces several charges, including felony attempting to elude, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and multiple traffic violations. Authorities said no officers or members of the public were injured during the incident. In a statement, the Orange Beach Police Department credited officers’ quick action and teamwork for resolving what could have been a dangerous situation and reiterated its commitment to proactive law enforcement and community safety. Authorities did not release the suspect name in the statement.
