Mobile, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Warren Pouncey, the former president of Coastal Alabama Community College (CACC), was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center early Tuesday morning on a slate of ethics-related charges before being released a short time later.

Authorities confirmed that Pouncey faces 15 counts of using his office for personal gain, a serious allegation that stems from an investigation referred by the Alabama Ethics Commission. Each charge carried a $10,000 bond, totaling $150,000, which Pouncey posted prior to his release.

The case follows an April vote by the Alabama Ethics Commission to forward allegations against Pouncey to Baldwin County law enforcement for potential criminal prosecution. Details of the alleged misconduct have not yet been fully disclosed.

Pouncey served as president of CACC from 2019 until his retirement in 2023, overseeing one of the region’s largest community college systems. His arrest marks a significant development in a case that has drawn attention from education officials and ethics watchdogs across the state.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no court dates have been announced at this time.
