ELBA, Ala. (BuzzReport)— Pastor Da’Quarius Green of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church died Saturday after being shot in what authorities described as a domestic incident. The shooting occurred at a Level Plains home on December 23, leaving Green with critical injuries that proved fatal. The woman who fired the shot, 31, has not been publicly identified and has not been charged. Authorities have indicated that the incident may be considered justified, and cases involving possible self-defense are typically referred to the district attorney for further review. Court records show that Green faced three misdemeanor counts of domestic violence last year, all of which were dismissed after the alleged victim declined to testify. One protection order filed against him stated that a woman, with whom Green shares children, was repeatedly struck, including during her pregnancy. It is not clear whether the woman involved in these past cases is the same individual who shot Green. Despite the pastor’s death and previous abuse allegations, members of Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church shared messages of remembrance and support on social media, highlighting his role and influence within the community. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing, with authorities providing limited details as the case develops.
