Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A Prichard Police officer responded to a local elementary school on October 9, 2025, following reports of sexual abuse within a special education classroom. The allegations centered on James Edward Williams, identified as a program participant at the school, and a 10-year-old female student with an intellectual disability who receives specialized educational services under an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

The Prichard Police Department escalated the investigation by contacting the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office for assistance on October 9, 2025. During the ensuing inquiry, investigators reportedly reviewed video footage depicting six separate instances of alleged sexual abuse involving James Edward Williams and the 10-year-old victim.

Following the review of evidence, James Edward Williams was apprehended by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at approximately 12:10 pm. He faces six felony charges for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12.
