Violent Domestic Dispute Erupts on Brown Road, Leaving One Hospitalized and Another Under Arrest

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A seemingly routine Saturday night took a violent turn on Brown Road when a domestic dispute escalated to a dangerous degree, resulting in a strangulation attempt and a subsequent arrest.

At approximately 10:36 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, Mobile Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence in the 3100 block of Brown Road following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, officers found a distressing scene: a known male subject had allegedly strangled a female victim during an argument.

The situation took another critical turn when the victim’s juvenile son intervened, reportedly using a knife to cut the assailant. The intervention appears to have been successful in halting the assault, as the subject immediately ceased his actions and fled the residence.

Emergency services were called to the scene. The male subject, identified as Rusty Abrams, 44, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Following his release from medical care, Abrams was taken into custody by authorities. He has been arrested and is currently being held at Metro Jail, facing charges related to the domestic violence incident.

The female victim’s condition has not been released at this time, nor has the name of the juvenile who intervened, given their age. The Mobile Police Department has stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Further details are expected to be released as the case progresses.
