Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A heated domestic dispute between relatives escalated into gunfire on Wednesday morning, leaving one man injured and another behind bars in Mobile. At approximately 11:50 a.m., Mobile Police officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Thompson Drive South following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. According to officials, the injury was not life-threatening. The victim was treated by first responders before being transported to a local hospital for further medical care. Investigators say the violent encounter unfolded inside a vehicle, where the victim was allegedly shot by his stepson, identified as 24-year-old Jalyn Green. By late Wednesday afternoon, detectives located Green, who was taken into custody without incident and booked into Metro Jail. Authorities have classified the case as a domestic incident, highlighting the family connection between Green and the victim. Police have not released additional details about what sparked the confrontation, but they confirmed that the shooting was not a random act and that there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community. Neighbors expressed shock at the incident, describing the generally quiet Thompson Drive neighborhood as “peaceful” and “family-oriented.” One local resident, who asked not to be named, said they were startled by the sound of multiple sirens racing down the street late Wednesday morning. As of now, officials have not disclosed the charges Green will face or the condition of the victim following treatment. The investigation remains ongoing. Mobile Police are urging anyone with relevant information to contact their department or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
