Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A Prichard teen is facing a first-degree robbery charge after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint and stealing his shoes this past Saturday in Mobile.

Mobile Police Department (MPD) officials confirmed the incident took place on Saturday, July 13th, around 4:41 p.m., at the 1800 block of Harris Road. Authorities responded to reports of an armed robbery, where a male victim stated he had been confronted by a suspect wielding a firearm.

According to MPD, the assailant not only brandished a weapon but specifically demanded and took the victim’s shoes before fleeing the scene. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was reportedly unharmed but shaken by the encounter.

Following an investigation, officers identified and arrested 18-year-old Jimmie Morrissette in connection with the crime. Morrissette, a resident of Prichard, was taken into custody and subsequently charged with first-degree robbery, a serious felony in Alabama.

First-degree robbery involves the use of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument during the commission of a theft, carrying significant penalties upon conviction.

Morrissette is currently being held as the investigation continues. Authorities have not yet released details regarding what might have led to the specific demand for the victim’s footwear.
