Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A routine late-night pizza delivery took a terrifying turn Sunday evening in Mobile when a driver was ambushed and robbed at gunpoint by two unknown assailants. The incident, which occurred at approximately 9:32 p.m. at the Sandpiper Apartments, 4950 Government Boulevard, has prompted an active investigation by the Mobile Police Department (MPD). According to authorities, officers responded to the apartment complex after receiving a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they located the male victim, a delivery driver for an undisclosed pizza establishment, who was reportedly shaken but physically unharmed. The victim told police he was completing a delivery at the Sandpiper Apartments when he was confronted by two unknown male subjects. At least one of the assailants brandished a firearm, demanding the driver’s cash and any items related to his delivery. The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and possibly other personal belongings or food items. The brazen nature of the attack has raised concerns among local residents and those in the delivery service industry. Delivery drivers, who often work late hours and carry cash, are frequently targeted by criminals. The Mobile Police Department has launched a full investigation into the incident. As of Monday morning, no descriptions of the suspects have been released, and authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to their identification and apprehension.
