Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced the appointment of Deborah Tillman as the new Mobile County District Judge, filling the vacancy left by Spiro Cheriogotis’ resignation. Cheriogotis stepped down to pursue a candidacy for Mobile mayor. Tillman brings extensive experience to the bench, having served several decades in the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office. She held key roles as assistant district attorney and chief district attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit in Mobile County. A Mobile native, Tillman graduated from Spring Hill College in 1985. With her impressive background, Tillman is well-positioned to serve the community. Her appointment reflects Governor Ivey’s commitment to selecting qualified individuals for key positions. Governor Ivey has made similar appointments in the past, such as Matthew McCullars as District Judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit in Calhoun County and Tiffany McCord as Circuit Judge for the 15th Judicial Circuit in Montgomery County.
