Federal Agents Detain 11 in Immigration Raid at New Loxley Elementary School Construction Site

LOXLEY, AL (BuzzReport) – Federal agents with the Gulf of America Homeland Security Task Force, operating under the purview of FBI Mobile, conducted an immigration enforcement action Wednesday morning at the construction site of the new Loxley Elementary School, resulting in the detention of 11 individuals.

The operation commenced at approximately 8:35 a.m. and concluded by 9:50 a.m. Witnesses at the site reported that the vehicles involved in the raid were unmarked, and a state helicopter was observed hovering above the construction area during the enforcement action. Following the departure of federal agents, the site foreman reportedly locked the gates, and construction work resumed.

This incident marks the second immigration raid at a local school construction site in recent months, drawing attention to labor compliance practices on public building projects within the region.

Baldwin County Public Schools has acknowledged the incident and stated its cooperation with federal investigators. Superintendent Eddie Tyler issued a statement addressing the district’s position:

“Baldwin County Public Schools is cooperating with federal investigators following a raid at the new Loxley Elementary School construction site,” Tyler stated. “Our contracts with our construction projects require compliance with federal law. At this time, we have no indication of any wrongdoing. We remain committed to transparency and accountability in all of our operations.”

The nature of the alleged immigration violations and the identities of those detained have not yet been released by federal authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
