Gulfport Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault

Gulfport, MS (BuzzReport) – A 37-year-old Gulfport man, John Shane Prine, was arrested early Monday morning by the Gulfport Police Department and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault.

According to authorities, officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 1500 block of 41st Avenue at approximately 3:00 a.m. Upon arrival, officers initiated life-saving measures for the victim until medical personnel arrived.

The investigation revealed that Prine had visited the residence, was asked to leave, and returned shortly after, sparking an argument. When the victim attempted to intervene, Prine allegedly attacked him with a bladed weapon before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. Prine was apprehended a short time later and taken into custody.

He is currently being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
