Lucedale, MS (BuzzReport) – A fatal accident on Sunday evening claimed the life of a Lucedale resident, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Highway 98 in George County. Preliminary reports indicate that a 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander, driven by 38-year-old Angelina Jantes, collided with a 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz driven by 52-year-old Jason Blue of Lucedale. Blue, who was traveling north on Old Mobile Highway, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Toyota Grand Highlander had multiple occupants, including an adult passenger, 38-year-old Leonel Miralrrio Jr. and three juvenile passengers, all from Lancaster and Dallas, Texas. The driver, Jantes, and the passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash.
