Brewton, AL (BuzzReport) – In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 21, 2025, the Brewton Police Department responded to a reported robbery that occurred within the city limits. According to authorities, the victims alleged they were robbed at gunpoint, and the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. The victims provided a detailed description of the vehicle, including the license plate number, which aided officers in their pursuit. Shortly after, Brewton police officers spotted the vehicle at a Whataburger parking lot. However, the vehicle fled the scene at a high speed, heading north on US-31, prompting officers to pursue. Due to safety concerns stemming from the high speeds, the pursuit was terminated upon entering Conecuh County. The Conecuh County Sheriff’s Office and Evergreen Police Department subsequently intercepted the vehicle north of Evergreen. Four individuals were found inside the vehicle and were taken into custody. They were transported back to the Brewton Police Department, where they face various charges related to the incident. The suspects have been identified as: Wyatt Askew: Robbery 1st Degree and Theft of Property 2nd Degree Victor West Jr: Robbery 1st Degree, Theft of Property 2nd Degree, Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Julius Armstrong: Robbery 1st Degree and Theft of Property 2nd Degree A fourth suspect, a juvenile, is also involved but their identity is not being released.
