MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 55-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged armed robbery and assault at a storage facility in Mobile that left a woman injured and hospitalized Saturday night.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched to Attic Mini Storage, located in the 3600 block of Halls Mill Road, at approximately 8:30 p.m. on June 6 in response to a reported robbery.

When officers arrived, they made contact with an adult female victim who reported that a man known to her confronted her during an altercation. Investigators say the suspect allegedly produced a weapon, demanded money, and struck the victim in the head.

The victim sustained a minor, non-life-threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Detectives launched an investigation and quickly identified the suspect as 55-year-old Calvin Crosby. Authorities located Crosby a short time later and detained him without incident.

During the investigation, Crosby reportedly told officers that he and the victim had been involved in a verbal dispute at the time of the incident. Despite the alleged disagreement, investigators determined sufficient evidence existed to take him into custody in connection with the robbery and assault.

Crosby was transported to Metro Jail, where he was booked pending formal charges and court proceedings.

The incident remains under investigation as detectives continue gathering evidence and reviewing the circumstances that led to the violent confrontation.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the weapon allegedly used or whether further charges could be filed.
