TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (BuzzReport)— The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) has arrested 42-year-old Chandale Mills following a months-long narcotics investigation that led to the seizure of trafficking-level quantities of illegal drugs, multiple firearms, and tens of thousands of dollars in cash.

According to investigators, the case began in February when TPD detectives launched an inquiry into suspected drug activity tied to a residence on Folsom Road. Over several weeks, detectives conducted extensive surveillance operations, gathered intelligence, and identified patterns consistent with a large-scale drug distribution network operating within the city.

As the investigation intensified, authorities determined that Mills was allegedly traveling out of state on a frequent basis to obtain new supplies of narcotics. Detectives also discovered that the operation spanned multiple locations, including a residence in the 3100 block of Folsom Road and another in the 1700 block of Cassatt Drive—suggesting a coordinated effort to distribute drugs across different areas.

After compiling sufficient evidence, detectives secured search warrants for both properties. Believing Mills had recently returned to Tallahassee with a fresh supply of illegal narcotics, officers executed the warrants on the same day. Mills was taken into custody without incident.

During the searches, investigators recovered a substantial amount of drugs and other items commonly associated with trafficking operations. Authorities reported the seizure included approximately 14 kilograms of cocaine, 177 pounds of marijuana, 11 pounds of suspected MDMA, 66 grams of fentanyl, 150 grams of synthetic cathinones, and roughly 8 ounces of methamphetamine. In addition, six firearms, more than $30,000 in cash, and various packaging materials were confiscated.

Police officials emphasized the significance of the seizure, noting the potential danger such quantities pose to the community—particularly the presence of fentanyl, a highly potent synthetic opioid linked to a surge in overdose deaths nationwide.

“This is a significant case that directly impacts the safety of our community,” said TPD Chief Lawrence Revell. “Every time we disrupt an operation like this, we’re not just making an arrest—we are preventing violence, reducing addiction, and protecting families.”

Officials say the case highlights the department’s coordinated enforcement strategy, with multiple units working together to identify and dismantle complex criminal enterprises. The department reiterated its ongoing commitment to proactive policing efforts aimed at curbing drug trafficking and enhancing public safety across Tallahassee.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be forthcoming.

Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact TPD at 850-891-4200 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS.
