Body Discovered Beneath Garcon Point Bridge in Santa Rosa County; Investigation Ongoing

Santa Rosa County, FL (BuzzReport) — Authorities in Santa Rosa County have launched an active death investigation after a fisherman discovered the body of an adult male beneath the Garcon Point Bridge on Monday.

According to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on March 30, 2026, after receiving a 911 call reporting a deceased individual in the water just north of Highway 98. The caller, who had been fishing in the area, made the discovery and immediately alerted law enforcement.

Responding deputies secured the scene as investigators began their preliminary assessment. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the victim is an adult male, though his identity has not yet been determined.

The agency’s Major Crimes Unit is now leading the investigation, working in coordination with the Medical Examiner’s Office to establish both the identity of the deceased and the cause and manner of death. Officials have not released any information regarding possible foul play, and it remains unclear how long the body had been in the water prior to being discovered.
