Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A 63-year-old man has been arrested following an early morning assault that left another individual hospitalized, according to authorities.
Police say officers responded at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, to the 700 block of Sullivan Avenue in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who reported that he had been involved in a verbal altercation with a man he knew prior to the incident.
Investigators say the situation escalated when the suspect allegedly struck the victim in the head with a foreign object. The blow resulted in a severe injury; however, officials indicated the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect remained at the scene following the incident and was taken into custody without further incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect, identified as 63-year-old Alvin Jackson, was transported to Mobile Metro Jail. Authorities have not released additional details regarding potential charges or what led to the altercation.
