Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A Mobile man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month, according to law enforcement officials.
Authorities say that through the course of their investigation, detectives were able to identify and locate a suspect. On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, 29-year-old Kelvin Blackmon was taken into custody and transported to the Metro Jail.
The arrest stems from an incident reported on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m., when officers responded to the area of Calhoun Street following reports of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female victim had been approached by a male suspect while walking home.
Investigators say the suspect, armed with a firearm, confronted the woman and forcibly took prescription medication before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported during the encounter.
Following the incident, authorities launched an investigation that ultimately led to Blackmon being identified as the suspect. Details regarding how investigators connected him to the crime have not yet been released.
