Mobile, Ala. (BuzzReport) — The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance as investigators continue to pursue leads in the homicide of 24-year-old Sha’Ravion Toney, a case that has remained unsolved for more than three years.
Toney was first reported missing on August 13, 2022, to the Mobile Police Department by concerned family members. According to investigators, her last known contact with relatives occurred on August 5, 2022.
Authorities determined that Toney, a Texas resident, traveled to Mobile on August 6, 2022, to retrieve her vehicle, which had been undergoing repairs following a previous accident. The vehicle was being serviced at Undrground Kustoms, a local body shop where arrangements had been made for pickup.
Investigators say Toney arrived at the shop by unknown means on August 6 and later left the location. According to the mechanic, no further contact with her was reported after that day.
Just one week later, on August 13, 2022, officers with the Prichard Police Department responded to a call regarding a deceased individual discovered in a vacant lot in the 700 block of Dallas Street in Prichard. The victim was later identified as Toney, and her death was ruled a homicide.
Early investigative efforts included interviews with individuals connected to Toney’s final known movements, as well as evidence collection at multiple locations. Despite those efforts, authorities were unable to develop sufficient leads, and the case eventually went cold.
In October 2024, the investigation was reassigned to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, which has since undertaken a renewed and comprehensive review of the case. Detectives have conducted additional canvassing in the area where Toney’s body was discovered, re-interviewed witnesses, and re-examined physical evidence collected during the initial investigation.
However, officials say those efforts have yet to yield new leads.
Investigators now believe that someone may have information—no matter how minor it may seem—that could prove critical in identifying those responsible for Toney’s death.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office at 251-574-8633. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the agency’s online portal.
Authorities emphasized that even the smallest detail could help bring long-awaited answers to Toney’s family and move the case toward justice.
