LOXLEY, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A weekend shooting in the Loxley Heights community has resulted in one arrest, according to the Loxley Police Department.
Police say 35-year-old Charnele Ranee Nelson turned herself in Tuesday in connection with the incident, which occurred in the 14000 block of Wolf Run. Authorities have charged Nelson with assault, shooting into an occupied building, and reckless endangerment.
Investigators said the shooting took place over the weekend in the residential neighborhood, though officials have not released details about what led up to the gunfire or whether anyone was injured. The charge of shooting into an occupied building indicates that the structure was occupied at the time shots were fired.
After turning herself in, Nelson was transported to the Baldwin County Jail for booking. Jail records indicate she has since been released. Details regarding bond conditions were not immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional information about possible victims or whether others may face charges.
